POSITION PURPOSE

Sales support, sizing, estimating, and costing of the Material Handling system product lines marketed by Wittmann USA. Serves customers and fellow sales managers by providing material estimates, cost estimates, material handling system sizing and proposals. Responsible for complete internal coordination of system proposals from RFQ through communicating with vendors to finalizing proposals with inside sales.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Perform material, component, and equipment estimates. This includes but is not limited to generating installation material estimates for material handling systems, control component estimates, rework estimates and custom equipment estimates. A specification may be a required output from an estimate in order to send to an outside vendor for costing. Occasionally work with those vendors on technical specs and pricing.

2. Manage and maintain updated pricing, and price lists of buy-out equipment and components from non-Wittmann vendors. Work with colleagues to update and implement pricing changes into CRM.

3. Maintain an understanding of technical application details of Wittmann and buy-out equipment/components. Work with Engineering Department to verify application as needed.

4. Provide material handling system designs based on standards developed/coordinated by Wittmann Engineering Manager, Inside Sales Manager, and Division Manager.

5. Create and maintain estimate records for current and future use by engineering and sales personnel.

6. Periodically evaluate effectiveness of selling tools, design and implement changes/improvements as appropriate to sales organization.

7. Support sales efforts for managed products by making sales calls, product demo’s and presentations at potential customers.

8. Generation of Material Handling system equipment proposals, with the inside sales team to ensure proper equipment specifications, terms, and delivery. Enter Sales Orders for system sales, work with colleagues for assistance as needed.

9. Generation of material handling systems cost sheets and system notes for each system proposal.

10. Communicate within engineering department for the generation of system flow schematics for every single material handling system proposal.

11. Communicate with engineering department for the generation of system plant layouts or system general layouts for every single non-budgetary material handling system proposal.

12. Use product knowledge to properly size and specify equipment for each customer’s application.

13. Develop OEM and Vendor relationships, know who to contact for any and all applications for equipment outside of Wittmann's direct offering

14. Track quotations, proposals and perform appropriate analysis to identify opportunities for growth and areas where improvement is required.

15. Work with Project Management team to review and correct errors within quoting process.

16. Carry out continuous improvement within MH System Sales.

17. Maintain a "Customer Friendly" attitude whenever dealing with customers internally and externally.

18. Assist in closing sales as required.

19. Travel 15%

20. Expense reports due in detailed, professional manner, within the month (4 weeks of travel).

The system sales engineer is available as a remote position for candidates outside of CT
